Reminder text is purely for very complicated or weird matters or for abilities, and there are two slight problems with the wordings.
"Exile each other spell." would be correct and the other ability would be:
"Each player loses 1 life for each spell exiled this way."

That's what you mean, right?

A card is a spell only when it is on the stack. When cards are on the battlefield they are permanents.
Think of it as a counterspell, except instead of the card they cast going into the graveyard, it gets exiled.
Consider myself learned from this experience.
